When most people think of billion dollar brands they tend to think of such things as General Motors, Apple, HP, and others. But would you believe that Hello Kitty is also a billion dollar per year brand as well? It makes sense when you think about just how much Hello Kitty merchandise is out there and how popular the brand really is. Individually, each Hello Kitty product sold doesn’t make much money for the owner of the brand, Sanrio. For example, each Hello Kitty bedding sold may only bring in less than a dollar for the company. However, there are now so many different products that use the Hello Kitty theme that it is easy to see how the company can generate such a large profit with one brand. Even though Hello Kitty has been around since 1974, it is such a profitable brand that is easy to predict a long life for it. Yes, you can expect to see the brand around for many years to come.
